Happy Friday

This little lady had her first swim lesson of the season this week. She knew exactly what she was going to wear. The goggles were an accessory, not for function, this striped bathing suit (that really no longer fits) and sparkle kitty shoes. I tried to suggest flip flops for the pool deck and she looked at me like, “woman PULEAASE.” I figured whatever, a natural consequence. Her shoes will get wet and next week we will wear flops. Well, she stuck it to me and went to great lengths to avoid all puddles. Then, carefully took the kitty shoes off and tucked them into her bag.

I used to have dreams about muted colors, bloomers…really, half the Mini Boden catalog. She has been dressing herself since she could walk and has strong opinions about it. Waiting to see what ensemble she will come down in every morning makes us all smile. Motherhood, it slays me.
